A little room
for another thought.
One thought leads to another.
Open Tangents is an independent publication for ideas that refuse to stay within a single subject.
Science, artificial intelligence, politics, history, philosophy, psychology, culture: each offers a different starting point. The interest is often in what happens between them.
Curiosity, with care
A good question doesn’t need a tidy answer. An interesting possibility doesn’t become a fact because it makes a compelling story. Open Tangents makes room for uncertainty, scepticism, and arguments that deserve a closer look.
The writing may take the form of an essay, opinion, analysis, question, observation, research piece, or short note. These labels help distinguish what a piece is trying to do. Evidence and interpretation should be recognisable as different things.
An independent identity
Writing is published under the Open Tangents identity unless a piece explicitly credits another author. The publication is about the ideas, rather than an author’s biography.
